Description:Synthesized substrate cleaved specifically at the Ala-Ser bond in order to liberate the C-terminal peptide-EDANS fragment from the proximity quenching effect of the DABCYL group, thus representing the first fluorescence-based assay of the herpes virus proteases and permits the characterization of potential inhibitors.

It is recommended that peptides containing methionine, cysteine, or tryptophan residues be stored in oxygen-free atmosphere to avoid oxidation.
